An iwi-led commercial development in the heart of Tauranga
Pūtahi Teia, formerly known as 115 Cameron Road, is a landmark commercial redevelopment in Tauranga, blending high-end contemporary design with Te Ao Māori symbolism. Owned and developed by Pukaingatarau B18, an iwi trust diversifying into commercial real estate, this project stands out as one of the few high-spec office spaces in the city – and one of the first iwi-led developments of its kind for the region.
Named in honour of the trust’s long-serving chair, Teia Williams, the building features a striking three-storey Māori-inspired façade, giving the two-storey structure a bold and distinctive presence. Japanese-style exposed concrete, a hardwood-clad staircase, and premium communal spaces further elevate the design, making Pūtahi Teia a sought-after commercial space.
RCP’s Role
RCP was engaged early in the project, working closely with the iwi-led development team to guide the design, procurement, and construction process. Throughout the project, RCP built a trusted relationship with the client, ensuring the iwi vision was realised while navigating the complexities of the building’s upgrade. As a testament to the close relationship, the RCP Project Manager became the ‘go to’ person to help the client resolve any and all concerns.
