The new development will become the home of the Remuera branch, occupying two floors, with an additional office level available for lease and a mixed-use tenancy activating the Clonbern Road street edge and laneway. This purpose-built space replaces a cluster of ageing buildings with a contemporary environment designed to attract top talent and support modern ways of working.

RCP has partnered with Barfoot & Thompson from the outset, providing early development advice, testing feasibility and investment parameters, ultimately shaping the project brief. This groundwork informed the decision to create a bespoke branch office that maximises the site’s prominent location and anchors Barfoot & Thompson long term into the Remuera community.

During design and approvals, RCP managed the consultant team, coordinated planning and consent requirements, and guided the project through a complex series of design decisions. RCP also led the contractor procurement process, supporting Barfoot & Thompson through evaluation and negotiation before appointing Dominion Construction to deliver the project.

The development is now ready for physical works, with demolition scheduled for Q1 2026, followed by construction and interior fit-out. RCP will continue in a full project management and Engineer to the Contract role, ensuring seamless delivery and alignment with the design vision.

Once complete, the building will provide Barfoot & Thompson with a prominent new home and introduce a timeless commercial presence to one of Auckland’s most established neighbourhoods.
