Remembering our Friend Jen

On the 25th of January 2025, we lost a most cherished colleague, friend and ‘family member’, Jenny Ellen McKinley.

‘Jen’ arrived at RCP in 2012 as our first Executive Assistant. Indispensable from the beginning, she organised and supported us as we grappled with the challenges of a fast-growing business. She took her role very seriously, and like a mother, she was fiercely protective and looked after us with our best interests at heart.

Jen was the calm and the stability when there was chaos (which was most of the time), and it didn’t matter what needed doing or organising, big or small - Jen was onto it. Always with a cheeky smile, good humour and a lot of tolerance.

There was tremendous mana and admiration for Jen throughout RCP and our wider network of industry friends and colleagues. In many ways, she embodied what we have aspired to be as an organisation: loyal, hardworking, humble - and, above all else, fun to be around. She had an unwavering dedication to her role, genuine care for others, and fostered a strong sense of connection and positivity within the team.

On every level, Jen was our superstar, and while she has gone, she has touched and changed each of us immeasurably for the better.

On behalf of everyone at RCP, we express our heartfelt condolences to Jenny’s family and friends – you were vital to her wairua and the rock that held steadfast during her final battle. We know she will leave an unfillable space in your lives as well as ours.

“How lucky we are to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.

E Jen, haere, haere, haere atu rā, we will miss you.

On behalf of the RCP team,

Jeremy Hay, Nick Beale & Cristean Monreal
