RCP ran the logistics against all of that, planning every movement of teams, plant and materials around the weather and the single route, with contingencies for crews and deliveries the conditions could cut off. The intricate steel-and-timber roof was trialled before construction to settle a method and staging the site could support.
The lodge runs largely off the grid, so its services had to stand on their own. Power was built with redundancy to keep the systems and safety running in extreme weather, drinking water came from an on-site bore and rainwater, and wastewater was treated in a contained, biodegradable plant that leaves the surrounding land untouched. RCP managed the delivery of it all, keeping construction light on an ecologically fragile valley.
The Lindis opened deep in the Ahuriri, its glass pods set alone in the valley under an unbroken night sky.
