Tim Breen tends to work at the point where strategy meets delivery. The goal is often clear, but the path isn't. He's drawn to unpacking that, working through the detail and helping teams find a clear path through complexity.

While completing his civil engineering degree, Tim started at RCP Christchurch through the business's long-standing relationship with Keystone Trust. More interested in how projects are put together and delivered in practice, he found himself moving away from the technical design side and towards the way projects are structured and delivered, particularly the people and relationships behind them.

"The relationships you build with your teams are really important and communication is the key player in working well together."

Tim has worked across portfolios and programmes, where the focus was less on individual projects and more on how everything connects. That exposure shaped how he approaches his work, building an understanding of how teams operate, how decisions are made and the role structure plays in delivery. This perspective underpins his approach to strategic planning, supporting clients to translate high‑level objectives into practical, prioritised solutions that turn strategy into action.

That thinking continues to shape the work he's drawn to. Tim has developed strong experience in the portfolio delivery and social infrastructure sector, particularly in place-based and community-focused programmes where long-term decisions translate into outcomes that are visible and directly felt. His involvement in governance roles outside of RCP reflects that same focus, reinforcing the connection between his work and the communities it supports.

Looking ahead, Tim is focused on growing RCP's capability in portfolio delivery, strategic planning and on pushing the boundaries of how technology and innovation can sharpen the way we deliver for our clients.
