Sam Lawson

Sam Lawson came to project management through architecture and construction, and that combination sits at the heart of how he works. He holds a Master of Architecture and spent years working in both architectural design and hands-on building before moving into project management, giving him a genuine understanding of every stage of the project lifecycle and the ability to speak the language of both designers and contractors.

Sam spent a decade in Auckland before making Hamilton home, and he now leads RCP's team in the city. His work is centred on Waikato health infrastructure, including the Waikato Regional Renal Centre and a four-level orthopaedic hospital currently under delivery, high-stakes environments where the margin for error is small and the impact on the local community is significant.

Sam is direct about what makes projects work. Open communication, a willingness to find common ground and a clear focus on solutions when challenges arise.

As Hamilton Office Manager, Sam is focused on growing RCP's presence across the Waikato, building the local relationships and team culture that let the business deliver well in the region over the long term.
