Biography

Oliver Haydon leads brand and marketing at RCP, shaping how the firm is experienced and understood by clients and partners. He joined RCP during a period of acceleration, drawn to a business that values innovation and growth with purpose. Oliver has a strong interest in how AI tools are reshaping the way value is created for clients and the implications this has for the professional services model.

“AI is changing so much, so quickly. I see the uniquely human capacity for original thought remaining critical to solving our society’s most urgent challenges.”

Trained in marketing and economics, Oliver has spent his career exploring how creativity and strategy strengthen each other. He has authored multiple research articles for the Australian Design Review on how organisational strategy creates client value and has been featured in New Zealand publications for his perspective on the role of storytelling within the business case process.

Oliver has held senior marketing and business development roles across New Zealand’s high‑profile built environment companies, helping organisations grow with intention and navigate challenging economic cycles. A big‑picture thinker, he listens first, keeps the client at the centre of every conversation, and aligns strategy with outcomes that matter.

“If you look across the construction industry, we’ve historically been guilty of fair‑weather friendship. At RCP, we focus on building enduring partnerships that survive cycles. For our clients, that means continuity of team, a deep understanding of organisational objectives, and a shared way of working together.”
