Nirav Amin

Nirav studied civil engineering in Auckland and spent his early career across subdivision, pipeline, ports and roading projects in New Zealand before setting his sights on the UK. Over five years there he worked on Crossrail, one of the most complex infrastructure programmes in the world, starting forty metres underground on tunnel construction and moving through to the fit-out of major London stations.

He came back to New Zealand in 2019 with a deliberate change of direction in mind. After years on the construction side, he wanted in earlier, from feasibility through to delivery, with more influence over outcomes and a full view of the project lifecycle. That brought him to RCP, where over the past six years he has built a reputation in infrastructure, with real depth in three waters and a growing footprint at Watercare.

He moves easily between technical teams, executive stakeholders and operations groups, making sure every voice is heard and clients have what they need to make informed decisions. In the water sector, where public processes are layered and decisions take time, that versatility counts. He works ahead of the curve, spotting issues early and framing them clearly so nothing catches anyone off guard.
