Biography
Nirav is the kind of person who thrives on being put into the deep end. He studied civil engineering in Auckland, spent his early career across subdivision, pipeline, ports and roading projects in New Zealand, and then set his sights on the UK. During five years overseas he worked across a range of projects, including Crossrail, one of the most complex infrastructure programmes in the world, starting with the construction of a tunnel forty metres underground and moving through to the fit-out of major London stations.
He returned to New Zealand in 2019, and the move back prompted a deliberate change of direction. Having spent years on the construction side, he wanted to be involved earlier, from feasibility through to delivery, with more influence over outcomes and a better view of the full project lifecycle. That brought him to RCP, where he has spent the past six years building a reputation in the infrastructure space, with a particular depth in three waters and a growing footprint working with Watercare.
Nirav's strength is his versatility. He moves comfortably between technical teams, executive stakeholders and operations groups, making sure every voice in a project is heard and that clients are equipped to make informed decisions. In the public sector, where processes are layered and decisions take time, he has learned to work ahead of the curve, identifying issues early and framing them clearly so nothing catches anyone off guard.
